We'll be counting down the top thirteen events that impacted Guatemala in 2012. We'll also be looking at what to expect in 2013. To help us with our roundup we have special (returning) guest Timothy Smith. Tim is professor of Anthropology at Appalachian State University; he's an author, anthropologist, linguist, and much more. His latest project is on indigenous identity and electoral politics in Guatemala – it's the culmination of a fourteen-year study of the rise of indigenous municipal governments, community development, and protest in post-war Guatemala. We'll be speaking with Tim about ushering out the old era and looking around the corner to see what's waiting for us.
