OUR YOUTH DESERVE A SECOND CHANCE... No More Mandatory Minimums for our Juveniles to Serve in Adult Prisons! There are thousands of juveniles imprisoned in Georgia jails for committing one or more of the "Seven Deadly Sins" which include: murder, voluntary manslaughter, aggravated sodomy, aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, armed robbery and kidnapping. Increased recidivism or creating a person who will reoffend and return to jail is just one bi-product of SB440. Senate Bill 440 was passed in the 1990s for 13-17 yr olds to be tried as adults if they commit any of the seven deadly sins. Sayuri Smith invites you to a conversation about how to help overturn SB440 to help the young black youth in Georgia. Featured guest, Anjail Abdullah will share her story about fighting the penal system during her 16-yr-old sons ten year sentence for commiting one of the seven deadly sins.
