Cindy would like to welcome Nancy DeKatch, CEO of the Nancy DeKatch Caregiver Insititute on Nov 1st 5PM PT, 7PM CT, 8 PM ET She is co-founder and CEO of the Nancy DeKatch Caregiver Institute, a non-profit organization focused on educating and supporting the underpaid caregiver. The institutes mission is to identify, attract, and reach out to this large population of unpaid personal caregivers, to provide educational resourses; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual support; respite relief; and the opportunity to rest and recuperate in a setting conductive to healing and restoration to wellness. Her personal hardships led Nancy to create the Institute, which provides a personalized blueprint to aid caregivers through trying and often stressful times.There are over 45 million caregivers in the US. The majority of them are the sole caregiver for a family member, are unpaid and have minimal if any access to outside resources such as paid respite relief, financial compensation, or emotional or education support information. Many are forced to sacrifice their jobs, their social network, and even their health and wellbeing to provide around the clock caregiver attention to a loved one. Most of these caregivers are severely stressed and over-burdened, chronically fatigued, and susceptible to physical, mental or emotional burnout.The Institute is located at the Respite Ranch retreat facility in southern Genesee County Michigan.
