As we look forward... beyond the election. Beyond the experience of the storm and beyond this year, will we learn anything about ourselves? Has the coming closing of this annual brought about a new awareness of self? What really matters to us in life? Is it those material things? The accolades? Or is it all about the acceptance? Or perhaps, is it more about our family?... Our legacy... Our loved ones? Tonight we will broach the idea of change. Change for better.... or, worse. Where are we on this subject? Are we reaching out to those in need as we could? Or just adhering to the daily grind of improving our own personal lives? Choosing to, instead be mindful of our own aspiring affairs. And, are we becoming more tolerant of this new lack of humanity in humanity? Caring less, and baring more? In the wake of the storm, I felt a reality check of self. Of my purpose and passions. I know I am a good person, but, am I seeing the whole picture? Could I do more for humanity? Should I do more? Is what I choose to do enough? The somber reality is... it could be any one of us... in the path of a storm. Struck head on. Lost everything. Surviving. Happy to be alive... surviving without shelter, food, lights...
